Seeds of success often lie in misfortune.....
When one door closes, other opens but we have to find the right key.
One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.
He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down.
A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing….
He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!

The great Greek King Alexander, after conquering many kingdoms, was returning home. On the way he fell ill and he was bedridden for months. With death drawing close, Alexander realized now his conquests, his army his sharp sward and his wealth were of no use.
He called his generals and said, “I will depart from this world soon. But I have three wishes. Please fulfill my wishes without fail.” With tears flowing down their cheeks, the generals agreed to abide by their king’s last wishes.
“My first desire is that,” said Alexander, “my physicians alone must carry my coffin,” “secondly, when my coffin is being carried to the grave, the path to grave yard should be strewn with gold, silver and precious stones which I have collected in my treasury. My third and last wish is that my both hands should be kept dangling out of my coffin.” The people who had gathered there were wondered at the king’s strange wishes, but no one dared to question. Alexander’s favorite general kissed his hand and pressed them to his heart, “O king, we assure you that your wishes will be fulfilled, but tell us why do you make such strange wishes?”
At this Alexander took a deep breath and said, “I would like the world to know the three lessons I have just learnt. I want my physician to carry my coffin because people should realize that no doctor can really cure anybody, they are powerless and cannot save a person from the clutches of death. So let not people take life for granted.
The second wish of strewing gold, silver and other valuables on the way to the grave yard is to tell people that not even a fraction of gold can be taken by me. Lets people realize that it is sheer waste of time to chase wealth.
And about my third wish of my hands dangling out of the coffin, I want people to know that I came empty handed into this world and empty handed I go out of this world”
Alexander’s last words:
“Bury my body, do not build any monument, and keep my hands outside so that the world knows the person who won the world had nothing in his hand when dying”
[bAdversity is a crossroads that makes a person choose one of two paths: character or compromise.
Every time he chooses character, he becomes stronger, even if that choice brings negative consequences
A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: “I am blind, please help.” There were only a few coins in the hat.
A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.
Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, “Were u the one who changed my sign this morning? What did u write?”
The man said, “I only wrote the truth. I said what u said but in a
different way.”
What he had written was: “Today is a beautiful day & I cannot see it.”
Do you think the first sign & the second sign were saying the same thing?
Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first
sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?
